The significant, metal reservoir holds 8 quarts of seed, which all remains visible through the line of clear plastic panels on two sides of the piece. Beneath these windows rests an adjustable metal perch, and openings for birds to reach the seed. Springs on either side of the perches can be adjusted to accommodate light, medium, or heavy weights on them. Once the weight limit is exceeded, the perch lowers and a metal cover extends over the seed, keeping larger birds or animals from reaching it. The perches and feeding areas on two sides of the unit enable more birds to dine simultaneously, and a baffle design within the feeder itself helps reduce seed waste. The significant, metal roof securely locks onto the top of the reservoir, and a squeeze tab at the front allows you to lift it with one hand easily, while puzzling squirrels.
